Metro 1 Properties secures location for Segafredo in The Bal Harbour Shops

Bal Harbour-Miami, FL  - Metro 1 Properties’ President Tony Cho and commercial leasing associate, Alvaro Giraldo, have just secured a 2,000 square foot exclusive location for Segafredo Café in the upscale Shops of Bal Harbour.  According to Women’s Wear Daily, The Shops of Bal Harbour does more business per square foot than any other retail venue and is currently home to high-end stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Chanel, Gucci and Neiman Marcus. Metro 1 Properties represented Vida y Estilo, a restaurant group that owns and operates five of the finest establishments in the heart of South Beach in addition to another Segafredo located in Brickell. The decision to expand to Bal Harbour was partly due to the success of the Brickell Segefredo location which is known to be frequented by Miami’s upper echelon of business professionals and celebrities. According to Segafredo this was a smooth transaction and stated that “Metro 1 Properties is the best combination of professionals, performance and value for our Real Estate needs.”

Bal Harbour is excited to have Segafredo join their impressive and prestigious roster of shops and construction is currently under way. The location offers 1,000 square feet of indoor space with an additional 1,000 square foot terrace. Located on the second floor, this space was formerly home to the Panini Café and is located next to the American Express store. The Shops of Bal Harbour and Vida y Estilo are a perfect marriage, each highly successful and respected in their own right. Metro 1 Properties worked closely to secure this seven year lease with Matthew Lazenby, leasing director and partner in The Bal Harbour Shops.

M1 ART SPACE & Metro 1 Properties are pleased to present the photography of Miami based artist Vicenta Casañ, titled “YouAreInMyDreams. MIAMI”

Wynwood, FL-  M1 ART SPACE & Metro 1 Properties are pleased to present the photography of Miami based artist Vicenta Casañ, titled “YouAreInMyDreams. MIAMI”.  This exhibition is a part of M1 ART SPACES’ on-going exhibition series curated by Nina Arias, in support of the continuous growth of visual arts in the Wynwood Art District.

“YouAreInMyDreams. MIAMI”, continues the documentation and manipulation of Miami’s landscape that Casañ is known for. Casañ photographs Miami’s earth, sky, and buildings in order to recreate her own interpretations of South Florida’s urban landscape, and the growth of the city.  In her previous works, Castillos en el Aire, Casañ focused on manmade structures in Miami, reaching towards the heavens resembling glamorous kingdoms within the clouds, however in her newest body of work, Casañ eliminates such pleasures by adding elements of uncertainty and ambiguity.  Unnatural colors, deleted buildings, warping objects and the exaggeration of clouds and water fill the series with a strong sense of melancholy and sadness. Like the calm before a storm or its devastating aftermath, Casañ’s images appear suspiciously unsafe, barren yet strangely familiar, and eerily beautiful. Born in Valencia, Spain in 1972,  Vicenta Casañ lives and works in Miami Beach, Florida.  She received her Bachelor of Arts at the Facultad de B.B.A.A. de San Carlos in Valencia, Spain. Casañ was included in the Miami Art Museum’s exhibition Miami in Transition in 2006, and is included in the MAM permanent collection. Casañ’s solo exhibitions include Miami:TropicalDepression 2007, and Castillos en el Aire 2005, at Diane Lowenstein Fine Art, A Group show with Lyle o Reitzel, Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico, and Circuito Arte Contemporáneo: 2004, Becas Art Visual,  Comunidad Valenciana; Galería Edgar Neville; Espai D´Art La Llotgeta; Centro de Cultura La Beneficencia and the Sala de Exposiciones Renfe in Valencia, Spain. Casañ has exhibited in numerous international art fairs such as Photo Buenos Aires, CIRCA, Puerto Rico, Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Chicago, and MACO in Mexico City, In the United States Casañ is represented exclusively by Diana Lowenstein Fine Arts.
